Beginner kitesurfing lesson on Kalpitiya Lagoon, part of the 3-day package

3-Day Beginner Package

Three days on the lagoon — the fastest way to find out whether kitesurfing is for you. (Spoiler: it usually is.)

Short on time but ready to try? The 3-day package is a focused introduction: three nights by the water, up to nine hours of tuition and everything provided. You will fly the kite, learn to control its power and take your first water starts — enough to know exactly where you stand with the sport.

Your three days, roughly

  1. Day 1

    Arrive & first session

Settle in at the lagoon-side base, meet your instructor and get straight into the fundamentals — safety systems, the wind window and your first kite-control session in shallow water.

  2. Day 2

    Body dragging & power control

A full day building the core skills: controlling the kite's power and using it to drag yourself through the water. This is the stage that unlocks everything after it.

  3. Day 3

    Water starts

Board on your feet, timing the kite to lift you onto the water for your first rides. You leave with real skills and a clear idea of how far a few more days would take you.

Wind and your own pace shape the exact plan — your instructor adapts each day. On light-wind days we reschedule hours where possible and there is plenty to do around the lagoon.

Questions

About the 3-day package

Will I be riding independently after 3 days?

Three days is a strong start rather than a finish line. Many people get up on the board and ride short distances, but full independent riding usually needs 9 to 12 hours over five days or so. If your goal is to leave riding on your own, consider our 5 or 7-day options.

Is 3 days enough if the wind is light?

It can be tight. With only three days, one very light day eats into your lesson time. We reschedule hours where we can, but if you want a weather buffer the 5-day package is the safer choice.

Can a non-kiting partner join this package?

Yes. We price partner stays on a room-and-meals basis so nobody pays for lessons they will not take. Just tell us when you enquire.
